Permanent/ Direct Position Instrumentation and Electrical Superintendent Location: Plaquemine/ Addis, La Area Client: Chemical Plant Supporting: Maintenance Department Benefits: Company Benefits Job Description The l&E Superintendent will manage the l&E maintenance organization (including analyzers}; a service organization supporting maintenance, construction, operations and other groups. The superintendent will assure the highest level of safety, productivity, work quality and reliability for all instrumentation, electrical and analyzer maintenance activities. Responsibilities and Activities Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and new installation tasks for instrumentation work- {30%} Develop a daily/weekly maintenance schedule with a 2 week look ahead for l&E and analyzers {15%} Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, switching, isolation, and new installation tasks for electrical work - 15% Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and new installation tasks for analyzer work-15% Update maintenance coordinators with job status and submit repair reports and documentation to meet ISO and PSM requirements. -10% Manage all l&E and analyzer technicians, which includes performance management, staffing, time approval, etc. -10% Provides contractor oversight. - 5% Other Duties as Assigned: Assure repair reports are properly documented and filed in the appropriate location Interface with the reliability department for long-term improvement items Attend meetings (safety, maintenance planning, reliability, contractor management, and production} Monitor l&E and analyzer maintenance spend and approve purchase requisitions Provide weekly updates on jobs lasting more than one week Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Incident Investigations Assure instrument and analyzer compliance with environmental and safety regulations including reporting and on-stream reliability Perform cost analysis for repair versus replacement of equipment Analyze l&E and analyzer problems when they arise and find effective solutions Assures that l&E and analyzer equipment and spare parts are ordered as needed and validate spare parts are maintained appropriately Manage the quality and cost associated with l&E and analyzer work performed by outside repair shops Schedule and conduct monthly meetings with the l&E and analyzer group Track manpower utilization, productivity, equipment repair status, project status, reliability and forecasting, provide reports as required Qualifications and Work Experience Electrical Engineering degree with minimum 7 - 10 years field maintenance experience with l&E and analyzers in a chemical plant environment. Or an Instrument or Electrical Technical Degree/Certification with 10 - 15 years field maintenance experience with l&E and analyzers in a chemical plant environment.
