As an entry-level Software Design Engineer at John Deere Electronic Solutions in Fargo, North Dakota, you will design new and existing embedded software controls for robust on-/off-road vehicles and harsh environments. In addition you will: Develop complex architectural, detailed design / analysis, coding, and complex testing / troubleshooting of firmware (embedded software) systems. Work in a highly skilled software team to deliver high quality software work products utilizing software development processes. Work on all phases of the Product Development Lifecycle, using a variety of tools for simulations and testing. Create software (C/C++/C#) for a variety of embedded systems. Travel as needed domestically and internationally to accomplish the tasks required of this position. Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position. What Skills You Need . One or more years of experience (professional/internship/educational) in software, systems, or electronic development embedded systems. Experience with development and debugging tools (such as Software Configuration Management, debuggers, oscilloscopes, timing analysis, static analysis, logic analyzers, multi-meters, etc.) to perform development and troubleshooting. Demonstrated understanding of concepts and designs for embedded systems development. Available to travel 25% of time both domestically and internationally. What Makes You Stand Out . Experience in software languages such as C, C++, or C#. Experience in development for 16 or 32 bit microcontrollers, compilers, linker and locator tool chains. Experience with simulation and modeling tools (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink) for software development -. Experience in signal processing algorithms (e.g. inertial sensors). Experience with communication networks and protocols (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, LIN, etc). Education (or equivalent work experience).
